Goodbye Sweet Fur-Child!

When it is time to say goodbye to one of our fur-kids, the emotions that we feel are overwhelming. It is even harder when we have to make the choice for them. My dear friend recently had to do this. Her final gift to her beloved Bailey, was helping her to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Amber, this one is for you. Bailey was blessed to have you as her mom! RIP sweet Bailey….you will be missed forever!

Dear Mommy

My last day was quite hard for you
I know it crushed your soul,
But what you did was right for me
Your braveness made me whole!

My body could not carry on
I used up all its play,
And in your heart, you knew it was
To be my final day!

With tears, you took me to our vet
With just a bit of hope,
But everyone agreed with you
My body could not cope!

I felt your arms around me, mom
Your love came shining through,
And as you cried those tears for me
I wanted to help you!

I tried real hard to wag my tail
And kiss you on your face,
For you were sending me to Him
With dignity and grace!

Oh mom, I had a special life
With you right from the start,
As your first kid, I’ll always be
Forever in your heart!

Let Aidan and sweet Bella know
That from my cloud above,
I’ll always have my eyes on them
Protecting with my love!

For up here, I can see again
Still bumping into things,
They say it takes a little time
To work these Angel wings!

My body is now full of life
My puppyness is back,
My mind is sharp, my heart is full
There’s nothing that I lack!

Though yesterday was hard for you
I thank you for your choice,
I needed you to do this, mom
You had to be my voice!

With love and licks, Bailey

Suicide or Murder? Think about it!

When a child commits suicide, it is often because they thought they had no choice. If the suicide was due to unrelenting bullying, in my humble opinion, the bully, or bullies as the case may be, committed murder! Remember, words can cut like a knife!

MY LAST GOODBYE

My Last Goodbye

Today I had to say goodbye
And close his casket door,
His bully got the best of him
And he could take no more!

He really tried to stay around
And make it through this year,
But every day was just the same
He tired of the fear!

My child was a special kid
Who had so much to give,
He would have helped to make the world
A better place to live!

I hope his bully feels the pain
That now lives in my soul,
If murder was his game of choice
Then he has reached his goal!

I hope he knows just what he did
And how he took a life,
I hope he knows his words were cruel
And acted like a knife!

I know he was not present when
My child’s life was done,
But still, he’s guilty just the same
As if he shot the gun!

On earth he’ll get away with this
It’s fact, most bullies do,
But in the end he’ll have to pay
Because He knows what’s true!

I’m bitter now and full of grief
But for this boy I’ll pray,
“Dear God please make his meanness end
So more don’t come your way!”

God Chose You To Be A Miracle Mom!

This is for all of the moms who are raising a special child! You are amazing! God chose you because He knew you could do it. It takes a special person to do what you do!

AUT

Miracle Moms!

This is for all the special moms
Who work hard every day,
To give their special kids the chance
To grow in every way!

God picked you out from all of us
You are the chosen few,
He knew you’d put your heart and soul
In all you had to do!

To raise a special little one
Is not an easy task,
Some days you will be overwhelmed
Why me, is what you’ll ask!

Your child needs some extra care
The world can be so cruel,
But that is why God picked you out
To raise His precious jewel!

You have to deal with struggles that
Most moms don’t have to face,
You have to make decisions that
Most moms could not embrace!

We all could learn a thing or two
From watching how you live,
It’s true, you create miracles
With all the love you give!

The rest of us will never know
The love you get to share,
For children that have special needs
Give love that is so rare!

So now you know we think you are
“A miracle on earth,”
And that is why God picked you out
To have a special birth!

NEVER LET A BULLY CONTROL WHAT YOU DO! CHOOSE TO LIVE!

If you are being bullied, please reach out to someone. It may seem as if this time in your life will never end, but it will. You will grow up to be a loving and compassionate adult. You will succeed in life.  You must STAY STRONG because your future will be amazing!

STAY STRONG

Stay Strong

Stay strong though life is hard right now
Some kids are very mean,
They push and shove and hurt with words
Your wounds might be unseen!

Stay strong and realize they are wrong
Their actions are not right,
They’ve picked you out to bring you down
Because you are so bright!

Stay strong cause this is jealousy
They cannot let you shine,
For if you were more popular
Then they’d be last in line!

Stay strong cause you are beautiful
A fact they know is true,
So they must not let others see
The greatness within you!

Stay strong and hold your head up high
And rise above them all,
For in the end, as life goes on
They’ll be the ones to fall!

Stay strong and try to be the one
Who teaches them the truth,
That being mean and bully like
Is screwing up their youth!

Stay strong because the bullies have
The power to leave scars,
But in the end, as you succeed
They’ll cry behind jail bars!

Stay strong and look around this world
You do have all of our love,
The bullies don’t have anything
So you shall rise above!

WHAT IF TODAY WAS YOUR LAST DAY? WOULD YOU BE A BETTER PERSON?

If we all tried to live like every day was our last day, would the world be a better place? Just a thought!

LAST DAY

Last Day!

If this was your last day on earth
How would you want to live?
Would you stop taking all you could
And only try to give?

If this was your last day on earth
Would you forgive your foes?
Would you drop meanness from your heart
And see how far love goes?

If this was your last day on earth
Do you think you would speak?
Would you help others who are down
And save them from their weak?

If this was your last day on earth
Would you make your wrongs right?
Would you let other people know
That love is God’s true light?

This could be your last day on earth
So why waste it on hate?
Do good and when you’re called above
You’ll find an opened gate!

If They Freeze To Death, So Should You!

Please bring your pets inside! They deserve the warmth of your home, not the coldness of your heart!

MY BLANKET (2)

My Blanket

Bad weather’s rolling in again
The chill is in the air,
Oh God please help my owners see
That I need extra care!

The last time that I went through this
I thought that I would die,
If no one sees that I need help
More frozen tears I’ll cry!

The ground is very cold and hard
With ice, my chain weighs more,
Why do they think I don’t deserve
To come in through their door?

The chimney smoke is what I smell
As I try to survive,
Do they not know that I exist
And want to stay alive?

I guess they have no love for me
I’m just a worthless pup,
If they don’t care about my life
I wish they’d give me up!

My body seems to ache a lot
All that I feel is pain,
I’m not sure why I fight to live
There’s nothing that I’ll gain!

The flurries are now coming down
It’s time for me to go,
Tonight sweet death will find me on
My blanket made of snow!

PETS ARE FAMILY AND FAMILY IS FOREVER!

If you are not going to make a commitment for life, please do not add a pet to your family! They are meant to be forever….not just for now!

LAST NIGHT

Last Night

Last night as I was seeking warmth
Your window let me see,
The kind of life I used to have
Before they set me free!

I used to have a couch like yours
Where I would cuddle up,
But last night I was in the cold
A lost and lonely pup!

I saw your fancy water bowl
So you will not know thirst,
Last night I drank my water from
A pipe that froze and burst!

You also had a big red dish
With food for you to eat,
Last night I found a garbage bag
With scraps of rotten meat!

I saw your people loving you
It made your tail wag fast,
Last night I dreamt that I was loved
A flashback from my past!

They gave you lots of special treats
How lucky can you be?
I hoped that you would come outside
And share your treats with me!

I watched as you ran up the stairs
They tucked you into bed,
And then last night I closed my eyes
By morning I was dead!

Do Not Text & Drive!

It only takes one second for a serious accident to happen and change lives forever. Please, focus on driving. You can text when you get to wherever it is you are going!

THE CHRISTMAS TEXT

The Christmas Text

Yesterday when I woke up
My heart was full of glee,
I planned to shop for lots of toys
To place beneath the tree!

I called my friend and picked her up
Soon we were on our way,
We listened to some Christmas tunes
To brighten up our day!

Then all at once, there was a crash
You drove into my car,
You skipped across a lane or two
How did you get that far?

You seemed to be quite shaken up
Tried hard to catch your breath,
You did not realize right away
That what you did caused death!

My friend and I died instantly
Too fast to feel the pain,
Why did you have to drive and text
Did you have much to gain?

So now as Christmas day is near
With handcuffs you’ll be bound,
Please think of us and what you did
As we’re placed in the ground!

Yesterday when I woke up
My heart was full of glee,
But just like that, you took my life
No Christmas joy for me!

RESCUE HEROES!

I wrote this specifically for the Humane Society of Forsyth County, Georgia.  However, this goes out to all of the wonderful people who either work or volunteer in animal shelters, trying to save lives everyday. It is such a rewarding, yet heartbreaking job. God bless all of you for doing what you do.

NO SMILES TODAY

No Smiles Today

Today you came to see a dog
But did not like our style,
You said you felt uncomfortable
Because we did not smile!

Please understand how hard it is
To rescue every day,
The sadness that we see each week
Would take your smile away!

On Monday we received a cat
With duct tape on her paws,
We’re not sure if she’ll walk again
Abuse will be the cause!

On Tuesday we lost two sweet pups
The foster threw them out,
She dumped them in a wooded lot
They’ll starve to death, no doubt!

On Wednesday we heard from our vet
Dogs cancer now has spread,
We’ll make her last days comfortable
But soon, she will be dead!

On Thursday we received the news
That made us lose all hope,
Police had found a Pocket Pit
That kids hung from a rope!

On Friday right outside our gates
A bag of trash was found,
Three kittens and a momma cat
No movement and no sound!

On Saturday we saw a dog
With chain, tied to a tree,
His collar was beneath his skin
At least in death he’s free!

Now here we are on Sunday morn
We want to do things right,
We love that you have come to us
To make a future bright!

The family that left as you came
Just gave their sweet lab up,
They said, “he’s now too old for us
We’ll trade him for a pup!”

The sadness in this poor dogs eyes
Made us all shed a tear,
We took him in, but made them leave
No pup for them, not here!

So yes, we did not smile at you
In fact, we cried a tear,
But please don’t take it personal
We’re so glad that you’re here!

Although you might not see it now
We have much love for you,
You are the reason that we can
Continue what we do!

We try real hard to not get down
We want to treat you great,
But truth be told, it’s hard at times
Forgive us, please don’t hate!

If you adopt a pet from us
Tonight for you we’ll pray,
Because of you we’ll smile soon
It just won’t be today!

9/11/2001…In Our Hearts Forever!

I was going through some old writings of mine. On the one year anniversary of 9/11, we held a little memorial at our farm. I wrote these words to go with the song “How Do I Live,” which was sung by both LeAnn Rimes and Trisha Yearwood. I thought I would share this today.

The Great U.S.A.

Yes, Bin Laden
Unleashed his evil that day
Tried to take our freedoms from us
Sent our loved ones away

But he failed his task
All he did was get us to unite
Now we’re stronger hand in hand

And we will move on
He can never take away all we have
We will stand strong

Chorus:

So hear our song
Our Flag will fly, forever
The Red, White, and Blue
We’ll fly it high, together
It’s what we will do
We are a nation of strength, hope, and pride
America, America, our country, our home.

In this nation
We fight for what we believe
Try to keep the goodness alive
For the dreams we conceive

So together
We will beat the evil that has come
With our hearts, our minds, our souls

And we will stand strong
Terrorists will never rule the U.S.A.
They don’t belong

Chorus:

So hear our song
Our Flag will fly forever
The Red, White, and Blue
We’ll fly it high, together
It’s what we will do
We are a nation of strength, hope, and pride
America, America, our country, our home.

 Yes, we will move on

And we will stand strong
Terrorists will never rule the U.S.A.
They don’t belong
We will always do it the American way
We’ll right the wrong

Chorus:

So hear our song
Our Flag will fly, forever
The Red, White, and Blue
We’ll fly it high, together
It’s what we will do
We are a nation of strength, hope, and pride
America, America, our country, our home.

We are the Great U. S. A.
